If only there was a system of computers on the Internet that was distributed across the world where we could host things instead of all in one location. We could call it the "cloud".
Indeed seeing ads almost feels like I’ve been physically assaulted. Using YouTube in our streaming devices reminds me of the old Cable days where you watch 2minutes of something and get slapped in the face with 5 minutes of ads.
It really feels like being assaulted. Watching chill content only to have some ad scream at you, does not make me want to buy your product. I actively go out of my way not to buy things advertised to me on YouTube.
I don’t care for furries myself but I think so long as it’s legal and doesn’t harm anyone. I don’t care what an adult chooses to spend their own money on.
And neither should payment processors. They have no business being gatekeepers for anyone’s money. My money isn’t and shouldn’t be subject to their shareholders interests.
That’s a personal opinion not a fact with any merit. And as a personal opinion has no bearing on what an adult should be allowed to spend their money on.
It’s not worth debating if you dissolve everything to a black and white argument. In your definition someone sending a cute sexy picture via text to their significant other is tantamount to rape and slavery.
The argument is ridiculous on the face of it and just not worth discussing at that point.
Payment processors aren’t taking a stance against slavery and human trafficking by blocking the sales of X rated games on Steam and itch.io and you know that.
And payment processors certainly have no right inserting themselves into any transaction period. They are not the money police. For any other issues between a person and a product there are other infrastructures in place that should have intervened before it ever got to the point of “supporting human trafficking”.
“Slavery hurts everyone involved” is true, but is not a reason to ban work that is not slavery. And that is just as true if you limit it to sex work as it is more generally.
I advocate for strong anti-trafficking and consent requirement laws and regulations on how porn sold in the US must be made and you bring up fictional "open drug markets" in SF?
I'm advocating for OSHA and labor unions for sex workers. Guess what, those work.
And you know what never has? Prohibition on alcohol, prohibition on marijuana, or forcing women to wear burkas for modesty. For their safety, of course.
I'm sorry, did I miss something? You and them said "furries" and now, suddenly, you're talking about porn.
Or are you immediately proving everyone critical of the payment processors right by showing that the "undesirables" will have their existence marked as sexual and then have access to the basic requirements of modern living shut down?
To be fair, it's not uncommon to see accounts with usernames like "throwaway_84723" on here. The barrier to making accounts is low and the site invites a more "don't remember me" crowd.
What I would like to know is why is it any business of VESA or any other payment processor, what I am buying with my own money. vESA has no business knowing what game I’m specifically buying. They just have to give money to Steam in my behalf and that’s it.
Dpaint III was amazing. The ability to do calculated animation was way ahead of it's time. Too bad I couldn't get anything exported from my Amiga 500 :(
eh, even if he did chances are pretty good most states won't put him on the ballot. He can bluster all he wants but no amount of bullcrap will allow for a 3rd term.
Indeed, if you attempt to look for modern windows/mac UI development tools it's either Visual Studio/C# or nothing. It's like development in that direction has ceased. Modern languages require complex tooling to get from zero to a UI, IE Rust/Go/Python, etc.
Rider supports AvaloniaUI and Uno. And both also ship extensions for Visual Studio Code.
You are not tied to Visual Studio or Windows (as in, you can target Windows and Linux when using macOS, or Windows and macOS when using Linux).
Rust is generally anemic if you need a visual editor. Go and Python are in even worse state (there are no production-ready frameworks for Go to do cross-plat GUI app dev).
