I've been wanting to learn deep learning on a deeper level, so I've spent the past month going through Understanding Deep Learning. I've gotten to the chapter on CNNs and right now I'm just implementing a bunch of foundational ML papers (AlexNet, VGG, Word2Vec, etc).
Acting class - I found this book surprisingly compelling. It made me reflect on my own search for connection and identity, and how easily it is to be misled and manipulated when you've got no one close.
Earthlings - The book's plot gets really horrific (don't let the cover fool you). However, it did make me think about social norms and taboos a little differently.
1984 - It was my first time reading the book, and man, looking around and seeing bits and pieces of the surveillance mentioned in the book in real life is kind of terrifying...
Grapes of Wrath - It's definitely the most heart-wrenching book I've ever read. Watching the Joad family get absolutely devastated by the monster that is unchecked capitalism is so sad :(
Skunk works - Really good book on the development of Lockheed's stealth planes. However, I did wish I got more technical details.
I would love to see some more book recommendations :)
For the past few months, I've been building a health tracking app called LogBuddy. I got tired of using separate apps for nutrition, workouts, weight, and period tracking. So I built LogBuddy to handle all of it with a dead simple interface. That way, all the heath data I'm tracking would be in one place.
Right now there's an Android APK available. If there's interest, I'll publish to the Play Store and build an iOS version too.
Would love to hear your feedback if you try it out!

For the past 2 months I've building an app called LogBuddy. I've recently completed the MVP and it helps me track my weight, my workout sessions, my food intake, and my periods, all in one app. It's really basic on purpose. This app also gave me the opportunity to go all in on mobile dev with Ionic.
It's in 3d and uses raylib. I know the game itself not very good, but I was hoping that maybe some of you would be kind enough to offer feedback on the code. What parts of the design or good, what parts are problematic, etc.
In any case, maybe the game will be interesting. It's all open source. Have a nice day.
I'm working on a motion capture app. The idea is that I can map my movement that's recorded through webcam footage into the movement of a 3d model. This project has involved 3d graphics and AI through 2d pose estimation and 2d to 3d pose lifitng. This project's been pretty fun so far. Here's the github link:
