Is there any video/comparison for the software functionality with the likes of Kindle Scribeb, ReMarkable, etc. for note taking?

I wonder if there is a qualitative analysis of the commits. Aka, it changed a line of comment vs it introduced a new feature or refactored and increased long term viability, etc.

I think it was expected after Musk let go of so many people and technically speaking twitter is still functioning as it was with a bunch of extra features (half baked some might be).

The 5-10% layoffs in tech started well before Musk showed up at Twitter. eBay is simply copying what every tech company has done since mid-2022.

They all seem to be 3rd party products and not stuff sold by Amazon. Some 3rd party seller is doing some doo doo

> single biggest AWS

I think that has always been Amazon.com since it runs on AWS.

Amazon doesn't run on AWS. There's separation between Amazon resources and AWS ones, even if much of the tech stack is shared.

Could you elaborate on few of the patterns you mentioned?

I think the last time I wrote CGI was with Delphi 6 maybe. This article just brought up memories of old times.

I'm dying to know how Delphi fit into the CGI mix. Or are you just using Delphi 6 as an "era" marker. I too was using Delphi 5 and 6... and Kylix(!!!) during the CGI era, but all my web stuff was Perl/Python and some Tcl. Somehow the idea of piping CGI into a Delphi program, never crossed my mind!

>>Employment of computer programmers is projected to decline 11 percent from 2022 to 2032.

Is this organization accurate in their predictions? (aka, do they have a proven record of predicting correctly?)

How about L7->L8?

That’s not my point. It’s nothing to do with the number.

It’s just not worth the best years of your life, unless you think it is, in which case maybe you should do it, or.. maybe you are undervaluing yourself.

It’s all the same recipe, take on more work, grow L(n-1) under you, be lucky, kiss up to management, and.. be lucky. Even then it’s 4 years at a minimum of grueling work.

I’m not against grueling work, but why not put that effort in for yourself? What are you going to get as an L8, maybe 1M? Is that worth 4 years+ of your prime time life ? Are you really learning all that much? Are you really having all the impact you want in the most meaningful way?

If you think your ultimate purpose is playing the games to get the L(n+1), maybe it’s the right place. But if not.. maybe not?
