for incredibly simple parts that i can describe using measurements, i've had a lot of fun pointing a high-power ai at openscad and letting it iterate through making the design for me
it's still tough to turn it into something i can then keep fiddling with in freecad though
put on "tron: ares" in the background to fully appreciate the model designing something that will be 3d-printed :)
You can get even more vague and just generally describe the design of something, making sure it leaves exact measurements to parameters, and end up with something usable. ("Make me an openSCAD file for an pointed star with curved points and an inward taper. The number of points, thickness, and angle of taper should be configurable")
i try to keep tabs on restaurants opening around me, and if one has something interesting, i text pretty much every friend i have if they want to check it out with me
only a few respond each time, and only about half the time one or two can make it out, but over time eventually all of them do
I'm so glad that style of inerview was dying out right when I graduated. And I love puzzles. But I don't need wannabe IQ tests for a job that expects me to work in legacy code and coordinae with other engineers.
i think the first thing they would program into it is "do not think of this being a simulation"
unless somehow knowledge of the simulation is part of the simulation?
then they would probably program thinking about the simulation into the simulation
like how does my virtualized environment know it's virtualized unless i explicitly set an environment variable somewhere; it just thinks it's 'root' unless it finds something (which may be a lie :) )
What a strange thing to say. Not only do people frequently recommend carbonated beverages to each other, the upstream meme is even more off. People recommend operating systems to each other so much that there's an entire subculture known for that exact behavior.
No? I have recommended Freestyle sugar free soda as a way to replace heavy CocaCola consumption. Here in Mexico it's a big problem, and I helped me get out of the addiction. ( add Allulose to the soda to add the sweet)
currently working on a blog for my friends that they can update by sending it an email
i've been administering a couple personal servers by email as well; they each run a small LLM and read emails sent to them, with a strict allowlist they can handle quite a lot of basic tasks: i've locked myself out of ssh from this ip please unban it, please email me when security logs are strange, what is the current status of the services on your server, etc.
