This is a study by a center which treats gliomas, a type of brain tumor. They noted a trend in rapid tumor progression following covid-19 infection and decided to study it. The patients at this center are given regular scans.
Study sample:
* 67 patients with glioma
* 56% vaccinated before PCR confirmed infection
* 13% asymptomatic infections
Results:
* 58% of patients had tumor progression at a median of 34 days after a positive test
* 22 patients (33%) had measurably increased tumor progression, median of 63% growth
* 16 of these patients also developed multi-focal tumors, meaning multiple tumors.
They also found 10 patients developed glioma within 31 days of coronavirus infection. However, it is not clear from the abstract where these fit in the sample.
