I once had a team discussion about something style related. I told them "I don't care either way. To me, it is like Tabs vs. Spaces: Both are fine, let's just pick any and all is well." A more senior developer added: "Yes, as long it is Spaces."

He lost a lot of credibility in my eyes that day. Really, you are so very much more experienced than me, but you cannot cope with tabs?

Since that time, I am even more tired of style discussions. Choose whatever you want, as long as you don't make it annoying to me (e.g. if you want a specific formatting, give me a tool; don't force me to do it).

I would rather have an Abstraction Czar that ensures that all code is properly abstracted (not too much, not too less) instead of the nightmares I have to deal with every day.



Okay, downvotes but no replies. In my eyes, what I am saying here is mostly in line with what some others said. My unique points were mostly my anecdote and my note about abstraction.
