Want to make it a little bit more fancy? Apple Wallet and Google Wallet both support a more fancy setup. Technologically speaking banning the other things is only driven by hoping that people will forget something and they can charge extra. What's next? They 'accidentally' kill the app during boarding. And they can up charge you.
